NJUHC Announces Campaign to Urge Representative Nellie Pou, NJ-9, to co-sponsor HR 3069, the Medicare for All Act of 2025
This campaign will run from May 12 until June 18. Much of the effort will focus on recruiting folks in NJ-9 to circulate petitions, mail in postcards, and make calls to Representative Pou’s office in Paterson. We will send a special mailing to our NJ-9 contacts to get as many engaged in the campaign as possible.
We are pleased that other organizations will be supporting and helping with this campaign, including: National Nurses United; Our Revolution-NJ; and the Green Party of NJ. Other sponsor organizations are pending, and we welcome new additions.
There are three ways our state-wide contacts can help.
1. Donate to support the printing, mailing, and advertising costs associated with this campaign. You can donate at actblue.com/donate/njuhc.
2. Make phone calls to our contacts in NJ-9 to urge them to gather petitions, distribute post cards, and make calls to Rep Pou’s office. If you are willing to make calls, please contact Tom at [email protected]. He will send you a list, dates and messaging for the calls.
3. Come and bring your friends with you to Paterson on Thursday, June 18th at noon for the final rally and brief march to deliver our petitions to Representative Pou at her office in downtown Paterson. Please save the date. The rally location will be near Pou’s office and the Paterson stop on NJ Transit’s Main Line. This date is during the week
when Congress is not in session and members of Congress are “in-district”. More details and an online RSVP link will follow in a week or so.
