Save the Big Date: General Membership Meeting

NJUHC will host a General Membership Meeting at the Reformed Church of Highland Park (19-21 S. 2nd Ave., Highland Park, NJ 08904) on Saturday, June 8 at 10 AM.

NJUHC will present keynote speaker Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman with an award for her unwavering support for both HR 676 and now HR 1384. There will also be a short business meeting that will include four Board slots up for election this year.

There is a public parking lot off Raritan Ave between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, which borders the back side of the church. Refreshments will be available.


Love M4A? Join Our Speakers Bureau

NJUHC invites all folks involved or interested in its Speakers Bureau at the Rutgers Labor Education Center (50 Labor Center Way, New Brunswick, 08901) on Saturday, June 1 at 10 AM.

The Speakers Bureau trains people to speak at events about Medicare for All and provides up-to-date materials for speakers to use. Please send a note toNJUniversalhealthcare@gmail.com if you plan on attending.


March to Pallone, Demand Healthcare Justice Now

Activists will deliver postcards asking Congressman Pallone to co-sponsor HR 1384 on Friday, June 14 at 12:00 PM. They will gather at Monument Square Park in New Brunswick and proceed to Pallone’s office on Church St.

Postcards will come from both local constituents and folks in Michigan. They will ask Pallone to co-sponsor HR 1384 and to make sure hearings occur in the House Energy and Commerce Committee which he chairs. NJUHC will also deliver a letter from all its affiliates to the entire NJ Congressional delegation endorsing HR 1384 and S 1129.


NJUHC Presents at NAACP Meeting

Karen White made a presentation to Trenton Branch NAACP at its monthly meeting at Mercer County Community College on Saturday, April 20. The meeting was chaired by Jonette Smart, President.

NJUHC welcomes the oppurtunity to discuss Medicare for All with other NAACP units around the State.


Forward Not Back Highland Park to Sponsor Forum Featuring Two Health Policy Experts

There will be a healthcare panel at the Reformed Church of Highland Park on Tuesday, June 25 from 7-9 PM.

Panelists include: (1) Joel Cantor, Director of the Center for State Health Policy at the Institute for Health Care Policy and Aging Research at Rutgers University; and (2) Bill Thar, a retired physician and member of Physicians for a National Health Program. Bill’s career included directing rural public health programs, medical consultation on health benefit programs, and directing a health care management company.

All are welcome to attend.
